Less dairy forward but the quality was again of a high standard. Recorded heifers averaged £2040 with 7 cows and heifers in all over £2000. The return of the Deri herd to Carmarthen Mart was marked by the top prices of the day. Two top quality heifers, Deri Dazzle 52 by Magor Bolivia Allen sold for £2700 and Deri Topshot Delma by Woodmarsh Topshot EX96 went for £2450. Both joined the Mountjoy herd in Clarbeston Road. A commercial heifer from Rees, Ysgubor sold for £2400 and others crossing £2000 was a Hafesp heifer presented by Richards, Ashfield at £2300 a Tremenyn heifer presented by Thomas, Llancwm at £2200 and a heifer from the Blaengelli Herd at £2150. Commercial cows also got to £2000 with a 2nd calver from Rees, Wernfraith.
