Clean sweeps for Ballakillinghan Farms and Ashley Kinvig
Despite it being the wettest show since the 1960's, waterproofed stockmen continued throughout the bad weather to bring out over 50 head present at this year's Royal Manx. Judge Harri Evans praised the final line up of cows for their correctness and dairy strength and said he had found in his champion, a cow that exemplified all that is desirable in the breed today. Fingan Boss Mallard EX90 4yr from Brian Brumby's Ballakillinghan Farms demonstrated power, balance and a fantastic udder despite being calved over eight months and a great matching final three topped the awards list with Fingan herdmates Titanic Elizabeth and Roy Anne 2 joining the Boss Iron daughter.
A similar feat was accomplished by Ashley Kinvig's Sandash herd with three of his youngstock heading the line up earlier in the day. Again, overall balance and power prevailed which these three well grown heifers each had in abundance. Congratulations to both Fiona and Brian and Sandra and Ashley.
