Suffolk Holstein Club held their annual general meeting on Monday 11th April, 2011 at Harleston YFCs Clubhouse with over 20 members in attendance.

The meeting saw Helen Reeve re-elected for a second term of office as Chairman with Simon Dain continuing as Vice-Chairman. After a number of years of service as Club Secretary, Jennie Hipperson stood down with Lindsay Burroughs being elected into the post. Margaret Vale and Ollie Dain were voted in as joint HYB co-ordinators for the year ahead. As a way to say thank you to Jennie for all of her hard-work for the club, Helen Reeve presented Jennie with a Royal Doulton vase on behalf of the club. thanks must go to Jennie for her support and work for Suffolk Holstein Club for several years and the club wish Jennie all the very best for the future.

Guest speaker for the evening was Doeke Dobma from Clinks Farm which is a Care farm and is involved in the new 'farming on prescription' scheme. all gained a real insight into the care farm, many thanks to Doeke for coming along and sharing his experiences of the  farm with us. following the meeting, refreshments were served which included birthday cake for all as Helen celebrated her birthday on the 11th!

Future events include suffolk holstein club hosting their annual stockjudging evening on Friday 13th May at the Tibbenham family's herd in Weybread starting at 7pm and July 8th is the date for a farm visit to Suffolk Farmhouse Cheeses. Our herd competition is also taking place in July - entry forms will be out very soon.
