South East Herd Competition results

The South East Club Herd Competitions were held in June and the club would like to thank our Judge, James Tomlinson (Bilsrow), for giving up his time to judge both the Holstein and Ayrshire Competitions. On the last evening a meal and social gathering was held at The Red Barn Inn where James addressed the members and his results were announced. Many congratulations to Jim, Robert and William Warnock of the Capelleferne herd who went on to win the Regional Qualifier in the National Herd Competition and so progressed to the Final, the first herd from the Club to make it that far.

James said: ''I was extremely impressed by the herds I visited in the south east. From excellent management systems to superb individual cows and deep pedigree solid cow families, it was a pleasure to judge. The sixty tonne cow class was probably the highlight of the competition, it's great to see so many aged cows who have performed in the parlour and still look the part.''
