All members and friends are invited to a Talk by Jan d Vries. Jan de Vries began trading as Diamond Genetics in Holland over 15 years ago, and the company has now developed into several subsidiaries trading right across Europe sourcing and delivering embryos, interesting heifers and genomic bulls for studs in several countries. The web-based Eurogenes is an associated online membership platform designed to market genetics for individual breeders and the opportunity to advertise and trade easily within an international market. This links well with Hotspots, a free subscription magazine that focuses on whats hot at the present time. Jan has also now created an American branch to the business, Holstein Plaza, working in conjunction with AMS Genetics, which have now made a real impact on the side of the Atlantic and offers European breeders unprecedented access to the US market. He has a vast amount of experience in the genetics industry and will give an interesting insight into the current market, how genomics changed the industry, as well as what genomics will mean to breeders in the future. Jan talks to all the main players in the Holstein breed from Breeders to Sire Analysts, and Stud management he has one of the most in-depth insights into Holstein genetics worldwide.
