South East Club News Letter

Dear Members

I would like to start by thanking Mr Billings and all his team at Oncoland Farm for the fantastic stock judging evening they put on for us in May. The standard of cows was extremely high and the evening was highly attended reaching a number of 35 members attending. On behalf of the club I would also like to thank Peter Prior for agreeing to judge the evening.

Trustee Statement
On the 17th March 2014, Greg Watson and the Society parted company early by way of mutual agreement. Late last year, the trustees instructed a business consultant to carry out a full internal business review, and as a result, it is with regret that we have to inform you that some inconsistencies within the Society were discovered. Nevertheless, we are able to inform you that over the past six months, the Trustees and the Leadership team have been working very hard to put the past to bed and forge ahead. As a result of this period of “fixing”, we are in the process of bringing our Society back in the game and reminding you, just why you are a member of this Society. We have some fantastic products and services, which are proven to add profit to your cows/herd, and we have realised that we just don’t tell you enough about it! Holstein UK, and its subsidiaries CIS and CDI, provide you with a comprehensive one stop shop for all your breeding and animal health needs.
We will be commencing the search for our new Chief Executive in the coming months. We are looking for an industry expert with gravitas, commerciality and brilliant communicational skills, someone who cares about this Society, its people and its members and really wants to drive us forward.  If you know of anyone suitable, please do not hesitate to contact the Chairman, John Edge on 01270 522234 or email johnre234@outlook.com
We thank you for your time and patience over the last year, and look forward to making real progress in the coming year, but in the meantime do take time to look at our “Breeding Toolbox” and visit us at the UK Dairy Day at Telford on Wednesday 17th September.
