National HYB Competitions Day
A team of 6 HYB members travelled down to Aintree Holsteins this year to compete at the National HYB competitions day with our Senior Linear Team (Jess Hurren and Robert Crozier) bringing home 3rd place.
The HYB members said they thoroughly enjoyed their day and commented on the high standard of cattle they had to judge.
HYB member picked for UK Team
In June it was announced that HYB member Lizzie Miles (Littlebridge) had been selected to be part of the UK’s 2014 team that will travel to Battice, Belgium in early September. Lizzie, along with 6 other HYB members from across the country will compete at the European Young Breeders School in various competitions such as stock judging, clipping, washing and showmanship. The club would like to wish her the best of luck for the competition ahead!
Day Trip
On 3rd June the clubs annual day trip saw a selection of members make their way down to Aintree and Rossett Holsteins. Members were treated to some excellent cattle, fantastic facilities and incredibly warm hospitality throughout the entire day.
Evening Visit
The evening visit was held by kind permission of the Lawson Family (Newbirks) on the 24h June. It was a great night which the members said they thoroughly enjoyed.

18th July – Open evening and Hog roast by kind permission of the Spence Family (Miresdale) Winners of the 2009 NMR/RABDF Gold Cup.
31st August – North East All Breeds Dairy Calf Show, Thirsk Auction Mart.
