Norfolk Club News

The Norfolk Club have held two successful stock judging evenings. The first was held at held at Easton and Otley College’s Marlingford Herd and included the HYB Linear and Stock Judging competitions.

Liam Banns won the Linear Competition and Laura Rout won the stock judging.

The second evening saw over 40 participants judge tough classes at Robert Paterson’s Airfield Herd. Winning the senior section was David Britton with Andrea Vale and Brian Macpherson winning the juniors.

The Bures Herd hosted a farm walk, it is one of the larger herds in Norfolk and Billockby Farms is one of only two remaining herds in the county owned by the Alston family.

At Royal Norfolk Show the Cawston family continued their winning ways and took the Holstein and interbreed championships with their Poringland Honey 6. Honey has already been champion at Newark and Suffolk Shows.

The HYB champion handler at the show was Charlotte Moody with her sister Georgina taking reserve.

While Designer Holsteins took champion and reserve in the calf classes with the champion Glasson Meridian Blaise A and reserve Designer Alexander Sharon.

Preparations are now under way for the All Breeds Calf Show on the 14th September with Tom Peters judging.  Hopefully there will not be too many sore heads following the wedding of Ralph Proctor, Airfield and Lucy Brigham, Easthaugh.  Congratulations and best wishes to them both for a long and happy life together.
