Western Club’s Holstein Young Breeders enjoyed their trip to the All Breeds All Britain Calf Show and were thrilled when Harriet Edge came in third in the Junior Showman class and also when calf Riverdane SVS Atlee was awarded Overall Champion.
The Young Breeders are growing in experience and confidence and we look forward to following their achievements over the coming year. Thanks go to all Western Holstein Club members who organise and co-ordinate the Young Breeders participation in these events.
With more than 50 bulls registered to appear, this year's Wexham Challenge Cup Bull Show and Sale, held at Beeston on Thursday 6th November 2014, was an excellent representation of the breed and well attended by potential buyers and Holstein enthusiasts.
Our Judge, Mr Paul Westaway, gave an interesting and entertaining talk on the previous evening, covering his start from scratch as a farmer, setting up Sterling Sires and a strong discussion about genomics.
