Lancashire Winter Herd Competition

The Lancashire Club has had a few busy weeks this spring with the Annual Dinner Dance held in March at The Barton Grange Hotel, a new venue this year which proved popular with all the tickets selling.

The dance floor was full all night with entertainment from Daniel Sings ensuring everyone had a good night following a delicious meal. It was nice to have guests from neighbouring clubs and we were particularly honoured to have Holstein UK president Randolph Miller and his wife Marlene join us for the evening. Randolph very kindly presented the NatWest Trophy for the Lancashire HYB Young Achiever Award to Nick Eccles.

Four new members were elected to the committee Mark Cornthwaite, Kirkwood herd, James Tomlinson, Bilsrow herd, David Martin, Lordsplain herd and Tom Stable, Boltonmanor herd.

The Lancaster monthly sales trophies were also presented by Club president’s wife Mrs Gail Robson. Winning the Norton and Brooksbank Trophy for the highest price female were David, Sheila and James Tomlinson for Bilsrow Alexander Iloa who sold in May 2014 for 3400gns.
