Yorkshire Club News

The Yorkshire Club has had a busy summer in 2016, starting off with our herd competition, this year judged by Mr Wayne Inman (Witherslack) No mean feat for judge and steward to cover the length and breadth of the county in two days.

The overall winner was The Lawson Family and their Newbirks Herd, this result was announced at The Great Yorkshire Show, the remaining results to follow at the Annual Dinner on November 4th.

The club welcomed members and friends to its pavilion at The Yorkshire Show and three fine days were enjoyed at the show. Highest placed YHC members were R & E Butterfield (Ingleview)

The committee and members are particularly pleased to note that one of our Honorary Life Members Mr J Waring MBE has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Holstein celebration.

A full team representing Yorkshire HYB attended competitions day at Newton Rigg in July, doing particularly well in the linear event. With Jenny Hardcastle winning the senior category and Georgina Fort 4th, they went on to take first place in the senior linear team. Natasha Jenning and Ben Coates coming 4th in Intermediate linear team.

Our summer program was rounded off with a superb evening, of cows, weather and hospitality at Newbirks Holsteins for the annual ‘six out of thirty’ competition. Judge was our President Mr C Hardcastle and winners were Mr D Holmes and Miss J Hardcastle
