Norfolk's Calf Show

The Holstein Young Breeders held a clipping and showmanship day at Easton College which was well attended and several new faces were seen!

A stock judging visit to the Twells shorthorn herd, produced a wonderful turnout. Peter Prior acted as master judge and Peter Rout won the senior competition and Stacy Ledger the junior.  The second stock judging evening was held at Reads at Tharston, alongside the HYB linear. Our own Luke Harris acted as judge.  Liam Banns topped the linear table with Laura Rout winning the junior stock judging. Senior was won by Dick Gibson.

The Norfolk Show saw our President, Eddie Brigham, realise a lifetime achievement with his homebred Easthaugh Audrey 70 when she was crowned Supreme Dairy Champion. The cow is jointly owned with Peter Prior.

The Norfolk Calf show was judged by Matt Winter who awarded Kyle Ledger the Champion Handler, whilst the Proctor family had the interbreed champion calf with Airfield Destry Amanda .

2016 has been a difficult year in dairying and the dispersal of so many herds in East Anglia has been heart breaking for many.
