A crowd of determined bidders created a fast and level trade for Roy, Sue and Martin Gazard when they dispersed their Mortonstreet herd of Holstein Friesians.

Top price was 1,800gns for a 2nd calver calved three weeks and giving 35kgs.  She was purchased by a Staffordshire buyer who also bought a September calved 3rd calver still giving 43.8kgs daily after giving 11,653kg in her  2nd lactation.

Calved heifers sold to 1,720gns and 1,710gns.a

Served heifers for July calving sold to 1,080gns and maiden heifers sold to 800gns.

The all year round calving herd had been removed from their Thornbury, Bristol farm to Ross-on-Wye Cattle Market for convenience of sale, and attended by buyers from as far afield as Devon, Wiltshire, Staffordshire as well as the neighbouring counties.
