Greenslade Taylor Hunt's Annual Spring Fever Sale at SAC on Tuesday 18th April was smaller in numbers but large on quality demonstrated by the 2600gns paid for Terry Cox's freshly calved heifer “Holmead Daryl Socks” who followed in the footsteps of her mother "Merlin Socks" who was sold previously through SAC for 5,000gns.  She joins the renowned “Dinnaton” Herd of Derek and Jeremey Dennis.

Commercial calved heifers sold to 1900gns for the February calved daughter of “Caps Bookmark” form AE & V Kidner who also sold two Ayrshire second calvers “Bremmi Panache Flo”  & “Judith” for 1700gns each.  The fresh cow section topped at 1800gns for DJ & VM Norman's “Ciderhouse Jenkins Fleur 4th” from the famous “Fleur” family she had calved to her second at 2 years and 10 months of age and was giving 40kgs. She travelled into Carmarthenshire.

In the youngstock section Richard and Moira Parker's herd dispersal was brought to a conclusion when their incalf heifer “Grangemore Cancun Dorisma 2nd” sold for 1310gns, two recently served heifers from the “Daisy” and “Amelia” families for 1120gns and February born maiden heifers for 900gns from the “Dora” family by the “Mogul” sire.  Heifer calves by “Marcelon” out of 3 x VG dams sold to 560gns.  The excellent quality of their cattle generated well deserved interest from across the West and Wales.

In the collective section R J Turner & Son of Sussex sold incalf heifers due in June to the Angus for 1120gns and K & J Hames final heifers following their herd dispersal in 2016 sold to 1020gns for the commercial British Friesian heifer also due in June.  A very smart consignment of bulling and younger heifers from Y Farms Partnership sold to 850gns for a non-registered daughter of “Coldsprings Ponder” that was born in August 2015.  A "show potential yearling" “Actonelm Jordan Zisky” from TG & EM Hart & Son that was born in May 2016 and from 7 generations of VG or Ex dams many of which were show winners themselves sold for 820gns to the “Oakroyal” Herd.
