27-09-2017 - Cornish Cows to 3200gns at Sedgemoor

<<< Back to Sale Reports

Quality stock was in high demand at the dispersal of Adrian Harvey's classified Treludderow herd removed from Newquay Cornwall.  No less than 12 lots exceeded 2000gns to top at 3200gns for the much admired Ex93 “Outbound” daughter from the “Miss America” family which was due in November to “Alta Superstar” who will be seen again in the show ring when she next calves.

The second highest price of 2500gns was “Treludderrow Iota April (VG87)” who was freshly calved with her third and was one of the large number that made their way back to Carmarthen. At 2400gns and 2250gns were two more dry cows who were due shortly with their second calves by “Picston Shottle” and “Schilldale Outbound” respectively. With the majority of the cows being winter and spring calving the overall average of £1435 was excellent.

Again the “Miss America” family were seen to be the most impressive of the day with the incalf heifer “Treludderow Avalon Miss America” selling for 2000gns, other incalf heifers to 1650gns & 1600gns for “Entrust” and “Iota” daughters. Bulling and yearling heifers created intense demand selling to 920gns x 2 for two “Alta1st Class” daughters. The calves met another excellent trade selling to 580gns for a spring born daughter from an excellent classified “Toystory” dam.

With Sedgemoor in the heart of the West Country and its easy accessibility just off the M5 the sale attracted 45 different purchasers from Cornwall to Carmarthen and all counties in between to create the following impressive averages for the Treludderow herd:
