Tuesday
5th December was the day that AL & GD Davies t/a Trefwtial Fawr Cyf moved
their and dispersed the milking and incalf heifer portion of their “Dandi” herd
to Sedgemoor Auction Centre from Cardigan, West Wales.
The
journey was rewarded with no less than 50 successful purchasers from across the
South of England and Wales witnessing a top price of 2300gns for the fresh VG85
second calver “Dandi Allemar Phyllis”. Fresh milk was very much in demand with

the October second calver “Dandi Trigger Mali” at 2100gns and the November
third calver “Dandi Ponder Bell VG87” at 2050gns. Other calved heifers also
sold for 2000gns for the “Woodmarsh Zoro” daughter from the “Iris” family.
The
close to calving heifer trade saw members of the “Nora”, and “Josie” families
selling to 1450gns, with more recently served heifers selling to 1000gns.
Heifer
calves were in demand on the day selling to 480gns for September born daughters
by “Vieuxsaule Flame” and 450gns twice for “Dandi Doorman Keller” and “Dandi
