 Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt were on farm at Nyland, Cheddar for the dispersal sale of the “Robertsons” herd and farm machinery for Robertson Dairy Management on Tuesday 24th April.  

 

The sale commenced with the machinery at 10.30am which saw the Scaffer 8610T Telehandler sell for £31,500. The 2011 New Holland T6090 sold for £29,000 and the 2008 New Holland T6030 for £18,700. The 2010 Strautman Reco Giga Vitesse 1 Duo Forage Wagon sold for £18,000. 

 

The dairy cows followed with an excellent trade for anything young fresh or summer calving. The April calved heifer “Robertson Baxter Roxi” topped the day at £2047.50. Another “Baxter” March calved heifer from the “Katrina” family sold for 1900gns, as did the second calver “Robertsons Jenkins Lucy VG85”. The March calved heifer “Impression Erka” sold for 1850gns as did the GP82 October calved heifer “Baxter Trixi”.

 

The November 2016 born maiden heifer “Fitz Elegance” with seven generations of VG or Excellent behind her sold for 1250gns. Incalf heifers due July by “Octane” sold to 1220gns and four week old heifer calves off the “Elegance” family by “Stantons Capital Gain” sold to 680gns and the “Flame Charity” off the VG “Yardgrove Van Gogh Charity” sold for 510gns. 

 

45 purchasers from Cornwall to Yorkshire generated the following creditable averages:
