There was a total clearance of the 137 dairy cattle forward with calved heifers and cows selling to a top of 1,800gns from a large attendance of buyers from South Wales and the English Midlands.
Calved heifers from Richard Skinner of Gloucester sold to 1,800gns and second calvers from Geoff Williams of Hay-on-Wye also sold to 1,800gns.
The best trade of the day was for the two consignments of cross-bred dairy cattle.
Rob Harrison of Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, received a top price of 1,550gns for two of his consignment, a Swedish Red cross calved heifer and second calver. His consignment of 27 calved cows and heifers averaged £1,303 and his 17 yearlings sold to 520gns and levelled at £458.
Haine Farmers of Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, sold 72 milking cows and heifers to a top price of 1,600gns for a Brown Swiss cross third calver. Their entry including animals with faults averaged £1,036.
