The Annual May Collective Sale at Sedgemoor Auction Centre on Tuesday 14th May produced a continuation in strong demand for fresh milk British Friesians and incalf heifers.
The collective fresh milk sold to 1850gns for RK & SG Miller & Sons “Moorshard Pirate Amanda” a fresh calved heifer from 10 generations of Excellent dams behind her. Second lactation cows from R Puddy & Son sold to 1750gns for “Courtway Krusader Jean” and 1680gns for “Bettiscombe Goodwell Lenora”.
The part dispersal for EJ & PD White of Salisbury saw their straw yard cows sell to 1400gns for a March calved heifer.
A consignment of incalf heifers from Dyer & Co. following their dispersal sale in February of their British Friesian cows created a great deal of interest selling to 1450gns for daughters of “Lars Acres Shot Trigger” due in September to the Aberdeen Angus. A further seven of the 34 sold to 1420gns each for daughters of “Adema 16th” and “Lars Acres Shot Trigger”. Another consignment of well-bred pedigree heifers from the “Oldhurst” dispersal of RC & HA Gallop due August to the Aberdeen Angus sold to 1380gns
Organic bulling heifers from ML & EM Persey sold to 900gns for “Bunniford Kingfisher 403rd” by “Cogent DG Superstyle”
