71 ANIMALS PASSED THROUGH THE RING FOR LAST SALE OF JUNE 

A terrific entry of 71 animals passed through the sale ring for the final sale of June -mainly milking cows and heifers, ahead of next weeks show and sale. Despite many doing hay and away on holidays another consistent trade was experienced again at Market Drayton, the ring a buzz with people; with 22 vendors consigning selling to 26 successful purchasers! 

£1,900 was the top call this week with four animals achieving this price, the first being a great heifer from the ongoing dispersal from AJ Mallinson of Essex, (who sent a super group of animals averaging £1,670.83) Roydonwich MVP Filbert. This heifer calved on the 4th June and was yielding 28kg she was secured by BG & MA Elkin & Sons Ltd of Hilderstone. 

A heifer from David Bramhall of Minshall Vernon, Crewe sold for £1,900; Minver Drummer Donna calved on the 14th June and was yielding 28kg she was secured by E W Moss & Son of Stoke On Trent. 

Cows were keenly sought after with a second calved cow from A J Mallinson of Ramsey Essex, selling for £1,900. Roydenwich Dreams Clinker 3rd (VG85) yielding 40kg daily was secured by J L Trow of Emstrey, Shrewsbury, who took home with him several other great cows from this home. 

A cracking cow from Andrew Mallisnon, Roydonwich Trump Filbert (VG85) a 3rd calved cow who had calved on the 11th June and is yielding 45kg daily was secured by Oakley Farming Ltd of Dorrington. 

There remains a great demand for animals with strength and power with a good amount of milk, and we certainly had buyers for every offering from coloured breeds to ¾ animals. There is always someone for every commodity at this sale week on week. 

Jersey cross cows to £1,100 for J Mathias. 

Ayrshire cows to £1,500 for PA & JM Astley of Deytheur, Powys. 

Only two In calf Heifers selling to £1,500 for E & M Pearce of Whitmore, purchased by BG & MA Elkin & Sons of Hilderstone. 

Just 3 calves selling to £250 for P J Huntbach of Crewe, secured by Mr JW Hopley of Winsford. 

A great Simmental bull from S White of Clotton, Tarporley, he sold for £1,780 to T L Sherwin of Stanthorne.
