Dam & Daughter to 2000gns at on-farm Dairy Dispersal
Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt ended a long run of dispersal sales at East Catkill Farm, South Molton, Devon on Thursday 12thJuly for RC & HM Lane and family.
Relinquishing their County Council tenancy, the sale commenced with the machinery which saw the 1996 Massy Ferguson 6180 selling for £12,200 and the 1985 Ford 7610 selling for £4,800.
The commercial dairy herd followed selling to 1700gns for a July 2ndcalver with her week old heifer calf by Catlane Chad at 300gns. June calver 3rdlactation cows sold to 1600gns as did an Ayrshire X 2ndcalver.
Incalf heifers due July to Catlane Chad by Trigger topped at 1400gns with others at 1320gns and 1300gns. Yearling heifers concluded the day selling to 620gns x 2 for daughters of Kirby Premier and Skyhigh Patrol.
Strong local support on the day generated 68 successful purchasers and the following creditable averages:
