47 dairy cows and heifers were sold by Lancaster Auctions on behalf of the Lancashire Holstein Club at their August Show and Sale. Judging of the show was in the capable hands of Ben Lawrence of the Lynholme herd at Grange–over-Sands.

An excellent show of heifers made his choice of champion difficult but Wilson Boow's Dunnerdale Lou Dawn, a hard topped Jenny-Lou Marshall daughter out of an 85 point(2yr) Titanic dam had taken his fancy for champion and backed up his choice by later  purchasing her for 2,000guineas. This baby had calved at 1yr 11 mths and was giving 35 kg. daily.

Top price in the sale went to the first prize senior heifer Magic Decker Lira from Richard Parker. Colin Dent, Bridge End, paid 2,600gns. for this beautiful uddered daughter of Far-o-la Debbi-Jo Decker herself out of an excellent classified 50 tonne Crichel Principal daughter with another 5 gens VG/Ex behind her. Colin bought another two lovely heifers to fill his trailer paying 1940 guineas for Carl Smiths 2nd prize Far-O-La Debbie-Jo Drake sired Inspired Drake Lotto and 2050 guineas for Ballakillingan Farms, Isle of Man,  Sandy Valley Bolton sired Fingan Bolton Melanie.
