A good crowd was at York Livestock Centre for the dispersal of Les and Catherine Cussons’ Yedmandale herd of Holsteins, removed from Great Ayton, Scarborough. Buyers from as far afield as Cumbria, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire and South West Scotland were present as well as the usual good contingent of Yorkshire farmers.
 

Top price was 2,000 gs for Yedmandale Picshot June, a third calver by Picston Shottle giving 46kg daily. She was one of 35 cows purchased by Fred Simcock for his herd at Ledbury, Herefordshire.

At 1,800 gs D.Lumley & Sons, Crakehall, Bedale  took a second calver by Moet Nansen and at the same money R.W.Wood & Co, Stillington purchased Yedmandale Jordan Olivia, giving over 50 kg in her third lactation.
 

Ronald Wilson, Castle Douglas was in keen form for the autumn calving heifers, taking a dozen home including four at 1,750gs.
