A decent entry for our special dairy sale sold to a good trade topping at £2000 for Mr Terry Cox of Shaftsbury, Dorset with Holmead Milkman Viola by Holmead Milkman. A smart consignment of heifers from Treginegar Dairy Farm of Padstow sold to £1950 for Arcedia Monogram Lyn 2 a granddaughter of Picston Shottle which sold giving over 40kgs. The same vendors also sold Treginegar Melody Diane a Moet Melody daughter which sold giving 35kgs to £1820. Messrs AF & SG Loud of Lewdown who are dispersing their herd as they calve sold another great consignment of cattle to a strong demand topping at £1880 for Combebow Doble 5 a second calver by Chatter T Red, the same vendors also sold others to £1820 & £1800 with their first quality consignment averaging £1627. Ian Tapp travelled down from Tiverton with a smart consignment and his cracking second calver Chettiscombe Jackson Maggie Red 4 by Weeton Jackson sold to £1780.   Messrs KJ Waldon & Partners of Umberleigh sold the final three cows to disperse his herd and sold a non pedigree non recorded second calver by Moet Nansen to £1700. A consignment of Organic cows from Mr SW Heywood & Son of Braunton sold well to £1250 twice.
 
 
A very smart consignment of 21 exceptionally well bred heifers from Loford for Mike & Jo Wade of Bideford sold well topping to a top of £1850 for Loford GB Marci 29 a February 2010 born daughter of Loford Glory Boy out of 5 generations of VG or EX dams going back to Henkeseen Mark Marci EX94, she sold to Messrs Hussell for their Perrins herd at Shebbear. Top of the served heifers was Loford Shottle Caye 8 a cracking heifer by Picston Shottle out of a VG87 Stormatic dam and tracing back to two EX94 point cows from Windemere, she sold incalf to Mr-Drham Sam for £1600 to David Grigg for his Ventonian herd. Two served heifers Loford Pragmatic Prism 3 and Loford Bolton Marlies 18 a Sandy Valley Bolton daughter both bred from 5 VG or EX dams and sold for £1300 each to Mr Dibble of Halberton, Tiverton. A July born heifer Loford Sam Caye 11 by Mr-Drham Sam from the same Caye family sold to £1200 to Messrs Hussell. A November born calf Loford Shottle Fifi by Picston Shottle sold for £920 to Robert Page, West Sussex who also secured Loford Finecut Model born in December at £700. At the same money Ian Tapp secured a lovely Meg calf born in March by Picston Shottle with 9 gens VG or EX behind her for his Chettiscombe herd at Tiverton.   A very smart bull from the same vendors sold to £1550 for Loford Enigma by Picston Shottle bred from a tremendous family with 7 generations of VG or EX behind him going back to Krull Broker Elegance EX96 who gave 15000kgs in her 3rd.
