Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt were on farm at Wadbrook Farm, Axminster, Devon for the Dispersal of R Burrough & Sons ‘Haylyn’ Herd on Tuesday 11th October 2011.

 

With 11 lots over £2000 the sale topped at 2300gns for the August calved heifer ‘Haylyn Diana’ by ‘Willcoxview Jasper’ that was giving 36.8kgs, her heifer calf by ‘Walkabout Blake’ made 420gns. Also at 2300gns was ‘Haylyn Silverbell’ a freshly calved 2nd calver by ‘Joylan Specialist’.

 

Incalf heifers due November to the Holstein Bull sold to a top of 1560gns for ‘Haylyn Celia 208th’ by ‘Moorshard Klassic’. Heifers by ‘Comestar Export’ due May, sold to 900gns.

 

The Holstein Bull ‘Walkabout Arshavin’ by ‘Talent’ and out of the ‘Osco Amanda’ family sold for 1600gns.

 

Heifer calves sold after their dams to 520gns for ‘Haylyn Ruby 77th’ by ‘Morningview Ashlar’ out of a 10,000kg Dam.

 

The day started with the deadstock when the 18:18 Parlour made £16,000, the 1996 John Deere 6600 sold for £8,300 and the Class Volto 779 Tedder for £5,700.

 

An exceptional crowd produced 85 successful purchasers and the following creditable averages:
