<<< Back to Sale Reports

The Western Holstein Club’s Monthly Show and Sale of Pedigree Holstein calved cows and heifers attracted an entry of just over 100 Head for its October event, of which nineteen were not forward on the day. The Judge was Ian Garnett from Allostock, Knutsford who selected his Champion from TB & JM Eastham of Samlesbury, Preston with their Carhall Rampage Peggy sired by Rosedale Rampage Red and out of an unclassified dam by Regancrest Emory Derry with the next dam being an Ex93-3E Raider imported from Canada. Reserve Champion was Danevalley Lancelot Frederica 2nd by Lystel Lancelot from A L Moore & Partners of Middlewich whose dam was EX91 Indro.

Trade was not as good as recent Sales but nevertheless a clearance rate of 90% was achieved. The top price was 3000 gns achieved by the Champion who was sold giving 34 kg to join the Ceinwen herd of Messrs R Evans & Son, Ty Croes, Anglesey.

The next top seller was Dunnerdale Howie Stella 2nd by Kerndtway Howie from WW & D Boow of Millom, Cumbria; she is bred from 7 generations of VG/EX dams, with the nearest three being Excellent and sold giving 32 kg to regular customer JT Parkin of Barnard Castle Co.Durham.  Not far behind at 2750 gns was Shanael Talent Oprah 2nd (VG85-2yr) from DJ & EA Williams of Gloucester; this was another superbly bred heifer bred from eight generations of top classified dams and sold to join the Cracking Herd of CSA Brassington & Son of Roden, Nr. Telford.
