The dispersal of the entire Wernddu Herd of Pedigree Holstein dairy cattle added an extended crowd of buyers to the regular weekly attendants, from all parts of South and West Wales with cows going to Pembrokeshire, Cardiganshire and Bridgend as well as locally in Carmarthenshire.

The sale included 80 head in the milking portion, 40 served and maiden heifers and 18 heifer calves and after a strong trade for the regular weekly entry the bidding came fast and furious from the off and lasted through to the end. Top price of the day came late on in the sale for the freshly calved Wernddu Dyson Llunwen who sold for £2450. By Wernddu Dyson, a Tregibby Gibson son, and out of an EX90 Outside dam she was a 3rd generation VG/Excellent in the waiting. She joined the Cowindale herd of Roger Morse in Llysonnen as did the next top pricer, Wernddu Laramie Sunshine. She was by Wedgwood Laramie and also out of a 90 point dam by Dombinator and sold for £2300.

Two more hit the £2000 barrier with Wernddu Dyson Lea GP82, only the 2nd lot in, going to Evans, Penlanchwilor's Chwilor herd for £2020 and Wernddu Lavender VG86 by Wernddu Primar (by Windy-Knoll-View Primetime EX95) who went to the Glorwin Herd of Thomas, Cwmdyllest. The youngstock again sold to a very good trade with an August 2011 born calf topping the list at £1250. She was Wernddu Abundant Blackrose by Ecstasy Abundant and out of the 6th generation VG/Excellent Silky Design Blackrose PI ET VG87. She went to Iwan Thomas at the Churvale Herd and will no doubt go on to big things.

The milking portion which consisted of many mid lactation and close to dry cows averaged over £1300 while Served and Incalf heifers just fell short of a £1000 average and heifer calves came to an average of £628.
