A top price of 2,050gns was recorded at the dispersal of Stephen and Sarah Horton’s loose housed herd of non-recorded Holsteins at Bishops Cannings, Devizes, Wiltshire.  Buying the top priced heifer Easton Homestead Belle, a daughter of Bomaz Homestead, was T Legge & Son of Bromyard, Herefordshire.  She had calved last May and was sold dry for calving next month to the Aberdeen Angus stock bull.

 

Another Homestead daughter, Easton Homestead Belle, sold for 2,000gns to W Bennett & Son, Newent, Gloucestershire.  She had been calved two months.

 

Autumn calving heifers sold to 1,350gns for a Magor Bolivia Allen daughter, maiden heifers by Durham Ross sold to 1,380gns and heifer calves to 480gns.

 

The sale attracted buyers as far afield as Cheshire, Devon, Leicestershire and Carmarthenshire as well as the neighbouring counties.

121 milking cows and heifers £1,221.21

9 served heifers  £1,183.00

26  maiden heifers  £843.23

5 heifer calves  £455.71

1 Aberdeen Angus stock bull  £1,911.00

162 head  £1,139.06
