CALVED HEIFERS TO 3100GNS AT SAC MAY COLLECTIVE

Despite it being the first day of silaging for many in the area auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a flying trade for quality freshly calved cows and heifers with good pedigrees at their May Collective Sale. This trade resulted in two bids over 3,000gns to 3,100gns for Ruckhall Forbidden Peach a freshly calved heifer by Double Trouble Forbidden and from 8 generations of VG or EX consigned by RJ Goss & Son of Wiltshire, she was purchased by a producer from Somerset. At 3,000gns was Sahara Holsteins Sahara Atwood Ambrosia 3 from a show winning family she joins the Symba Herd of Robert Symms and family at Sherborne Dorset. At 2,750gns was the 34kgs Bettiscombe Bogart Delila from regular consigners Roland and Simon Bugler who sold to regular purchasers D W C & M A Brunt of Bridport. Red and white heifers from Longmoor Farm Partners sold to 2,150gns for Longmoor Royce Dimple Red she was one of nine cows and heifers purchased by the Tamplin family who are starting a new herd in South Wales.
 

Cows sold to 2,050gns for Bettiscombe Principle Lovely 39, a 2nd calver giving 45kgs daily. Organic heifers form PR & SA Manley’s dispersal sold to 1,950gns for Primehill India 5 by Palmcrest Breakout. In-calf heifers from RJ Willcox sold to 1,420gns for Wortwell Bolivia Milly. Holstein Bulls from AJ Bennett & Sons sold to 1,450gns for the red and white Lilylane Artiface Red.
