Hallworthy Stockyard reaches £2782 for Ottervale!!

Kivells of Hallworthy Stockyard saw a very large crowd of buyers at the Dairy dispersal sale of the “Ottervale” herd on behalf of Messrs DG & JA Parsons & Mr R Parsons who farm near Camelford, North Cornwall.

Top call of the day was 2650 gns (£2782) given for “The Show Cow” “Ottervale Bolton Thea 15 VG89”, who was a freshly calved third calver and attracted a great deal of interest from buyers from all over the South West & sold to the Weeks Family of Hartland. Just as impressive was the pick of their freshly calved heifers “Ottervale Goldwyn Quickstep 3 VG85” which saw Kivells auctioneer Mark Bromell bring the hammer down at 2450 gns (£2573).

The dispersal also included a consignment of Jerseys which saw considerable interest from potential buyers pushing the best to 2000 gns (£2100) for “Bojewyan Belles Jamima EX92(2)” a tremendous fourth calver going to its new home in Helston, West Cornwall with the Williams Family.

Speaking after the auction, Mark Bromell of Kivells said “We were delighted with the entry of 204 dairy cattle at Hallworthy Stockyard and pleased to have seen such a strong trade throughout the sale, particularly for our principal vendors dispersal.
