Lilylane top the Annual Golden Opportunity at SAC

Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt held their Annual Golden Opportunity Sale on Tuesday 16th July, at Sedgemoor Auction Centre. Fresh milk was again in strong demand selling to 2650gns for ‘Lilylane Diamond Bet’ a July calved heifer out of 6 generations of Ex and VG dams from AJ Bennett & Sons. At 2300gns was ‘Beneknowle Loader Meg 74th’ from PJ Andrews with ‘Dorset Primrose Yogirl’ from Ian Dimond at 2250gns.

Topping the cows was ‘Bettiscombe Sanchez Elegance 2nd ET’ a second calver giving 45kgs, she sold for 2100gns. Roland and Simon Bugler also sold ‘Final Cut Daisy 14th’ for 1950gns. Another 2nd calver from Longmoor Farm Partners ‘Barleypark Buckeye Patsy’ sold for 1950gns.

Incalf Heifers from LS Pow & Sons Ltd sold to 1620gns for a Wa-Del Hayden daughter due August to the Hereford. Others by the same sire sold to 1600gns and 1580gns.

Bulls sold to 2000gns for ‘Bettiscombe Windbrook Randy’ by Gillette Windbrook and out of an Ex93-2E dam from RE & HE Bugler & Partners. At 1900gns was ‘Crystal Extreme Brimstone’ from Crystal Holsteins.

A consignment of 65 Holstein Friesians from Messrs Westnedge & Knight of Surrey that were off lying and due next spring sold to 1520gns, for a heifer calved last August due in February to the Hereford.

Heifer calves from WT Harding & Sons sold to 750gns for ‘Westel Sentry Pamela 40th’ out of 7 generations of Ex and VG dams.
