Large demand for dairy dispersal at SAC

A large company of purchasers from Cornwall to Staffordshire and across to the Isle of Wight, gathered at Sedgemoor Auction Centre on Tuesday 13th August for the dispersal of Mr DJ Cossins’ commercial dairy herd. They were removed from Blagdon Hill, Taunton for convenience of sale. Records had suffered due to poor fodder but the depth of breeding gave purchasers confidence that the cattle had excellent potential.

Cows sold to 1860gns for a June 2nd Calver out of a ‘Hintonpark’ Dam. At 1750gns was another 2nd Calver by ‘Smiddiehill Saratoga’.

Well grown incalf heifers due September to ‘Regancrest-Mr Samuelo PI ET’ sold to 1620gns.

Recently served heifers by ‘Moet Equator’ sold to 1040gns and bulling heifers by ‘Hol-Steins Jumper’ and ‘ABS Platinum’ sold to 940gns. Heifer calves sold after their dams were an excellent trade selling to 540gns for a daughter of ‘All Ven Torrer’.
