The eagerly anticipated dispersal of the much admired Penrikka herd of pedigree Holstein Friesian dairy cattle attracted a huge crowd of buyers when they were sold at Penygenhill Farm, Glasbury, Hay-on-Wye, Powys.

The husband and wife team of Geoff and Jean Williams had achieved the highly acclaimed status of Master Breeder within the breed. This achievement of breeding cattle of superior dairy conformation and quality lifetime production, resulted in a phenomenal trade with bids cascading from the assembled crowd of buyers which had gathered in large numbers from all corners of Wales and England – as far as Pembrokeshire, Essex, Devon and Cumbria, as well as Northern Ireland. 96 buyers from 21 counties got their names on the book with 120 cattle selling for 2,000gns or more, of which 36 were over 3,000gns.
