World first for Willsbro at Exeter!

Messrs Wills Bros of Wadebridge saw 100% clearance at their special sale at Exeter Livestock Centre, Devon when they offered the first consignment of 41 genomically tested breeding bulls to be offered at an auction anywhere in the world! The sale commenced with 27 freshly calved young cows and heifers from their famous Willsbro herd which saw a cracking trade throughout with a top call of 4000gns for Willsbro Planet Sho Lila Z, this fresh heifer was sired by Ensenada Taboo Planet and bred from the world famous Lila Z family, she was great granddaughter to the million dollar Lylehaven Lila Z EX94, she sold to Nev Roberts for his Dulais herd in Wales.

Next at 3150gns was Willsbro Million Gold Ghost, another very fresh heifer by England-Ammon Million ET bred from the renowned Ghost family and she sold to Nick Kaye for his Salterton herd in Wiltshire. The highest priced cow was 2700gns for Willsbro Million Raven ET VG87, a second calver also by Million, she sold giving 58Kgs to Sion Davies of Carmarthen. 41 bulls saw a much greater than expected trade with strong demand in particular for the older bulls which saw 6 sell over £2000. Top was 2400gns for Willsbro Steaming ET sired by Gen-I-Beq Lavaman ET bred from the Sara family, this powerful bull was a son of Riverdane PS Sara PI ET EX94 and had a GTPI OF 2144, He sold to John Morrish of Wrexham. Bulls from the Missy family sold to great demand and it was Willsbro Charlie ET, another bull by Lavaman out of Ballycairn Planet Missy ET VG88 2yr which is one of the hottest young cows at Willsbro and he sold at 2250gns to MJ Hugo & Son of Cornwall. His full brother sold at 2200gns to Mark Burnard of Holsworthy for his Trelana Herd.

The younger bulls sold better than we expected with every one finding a new home and three bulls under 10 months selling over £1000. The last lot of the day sold at 950gns for Willsbro Yorik Supreme ET an eight month old bull by Mars Yorik ET out of the Sara family.
