The Stourvale Dispersal

Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt were on farm in Dorset for Sid and Olly Rose’s dispersal of their ‘Stourvale’ herd on Tuesday 24th September. 450 head of cattle and 100 lots of deadstock were sold in 7 and half hours to 75 successful purchasers.

The cows on the cover of the catalogue rightly stole the show selling to 4300gns for ‘Stourvale Shottle Welcome Ex93-3E’ who joins the ‘Yardgrove’ herd at Blandford with her daughter ‘Stourvale Matson Welcome VG88’ joining the same herd at 3300gns. The other cover girl ‘Stourvale Boss Iron Beano Ex94-4E’ sold to 4200gns to an undisclosed Dorset buyer and her daughter ‘Stourvale Bolton Beano VG86-2yr’ sold for 3200gns to SA Davies & Daughters of Carmarthen. Also at 3200gns was the VG85-2yr ‘Stourvale Razzle Mini’ who was freshly calved to her 2nd and made up a consignment of 25 that joined the ‘Worthy’ herd in Somerset. The ‘Talent’ heifer ‘Stourvale Talent Seiglinde’ out of the Ex91-2E Dam ‘Mikali Mack Seiglinde’ sold for 3100gns to SA Davies & Daughters.

Incalf Heifer ‘Stourvale Bolton Beano 2nd’ sold for 3050gns and at 3000gns were ‘Stourvale Retinue Daisy Red Ex90’ and unclassified ‘Stourvale Samuelo Sooty’ both inmilk cows. Non pedigree calved cows sold to 2200gns.

9 animals sold in excess of 3000gns and 77 animals sold exceeded 2000gns to include the top priced calved heifer ‘Stourvale Avalon Hilary 2nd’ at 2500gns.

Other Incalf heifers sold to 2600gns for another ‘Welcome’ out of the top priced cow, ‘Stourvale Seagual Welcome’. Another incalf heifer out of 3 Ex Dams sold to 2550gns being ‘Stourvale Earlwyn Hilary’.

Heifer calves from the ‘Beano family sold to 850gns for the 8 week old ‘Fever Beano’ with a PLI of £136.
