STRAW YARD COWS TO 2000GNS AT SAC

Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt, witnessed the best cows selling for a premium at Karova Farms dispersal sale held at Sedgemoor Auction Centre on Tuesday 13th May 2013.

Removing the straw yard cows from Sussex to the West Country was rewarded with cows topping at 2000gns for a September calved “Magor Bolivia Allen” daughter that was due again in August. A 51 kgs second calver by Pine-Shelter Logan Iron” sold to 1900gns as did a heifer due to her second in June by “Schillview Garrett”.

Incalf heifers were in strong demand selling to 1540gns for a “R-E-W Seaver” daughter due August to “Coldsprings Ponder”. Others sold to 1520gns x 2.

Bulling heifers reached 1100gns for daughters of “Schillview Garrett” and “Galastar Bluesky”.

Heifer calves reached 600gns for granddaughters of “Picston Shottle”.

Of the two Hereford stock bulls forward on the day, it was the pedigree bull “Salcey 1 Hellmans (P)” that sold for 1750gns.
