77 Over £2000 at “Dinnaton” to top at 3000gns

Greenslade Taylor Hunt were delighted to be back on farm at Ivybridge in South
Devon for the dispersal sale of Derek & Jeremy Dennis’s “Dinnaton” herd.
Their decision to sell their milking herd drew purchasers from across the South
West and Wales, with no less than 77 cows and heifers selling for over £2000.
“Dinnaton
Milton Bogart Roxy” who had been classified VG86 as a heifer was from the World
renowned “Roxy” family with the likes of “Shalama” and “Hanoverhill” in her
back pedigree, she calved in January, served to Dorcy and topped the day at
3000gns to the Larkworthy family from Torrington, Devon.
The
second highest price of the day was the April calved heifer “Dinnaton Bolton
Groovy Graceful VG86” out of the Ex90 dam and by “Schillview O-Man Groovy ET” sold
for 2900gns. She travelled to Wales with 21 others for an undisclosed buyer who
picked the very best throughout the day. At 2700gns was another April calved
heifer classified VG being “Dinnaton Duplex Bluesky Dreamer”.
The
second calver “Dinnaton Baxter Capt Lisa VG88” giving 45.8 sold for 2600gns as
did the VG85 calved heifer “Dinnaton Bluesky Marissa”. A May calved “Bolton”
granddaughter “Dinnaton Bolton Story Ona” of VG or EX sold for 2550gns as a
heifer to a new herd in Gloucester, as did “Dinnaton Picston Mason Lisa” a
10,000kgs second calver at 2500gns.
The
6th lactation Ex91 “Dinnaton Geno Talent Fleur” calved in May sold for 2000gns.
Purchasers made the most of the opportunity to purchase Ex cows from this
superb herd with “Dinnaton Sam Boli Joyce” Ex90 a third calver selling for
2300gns.
The
cattle were much admired by the purchasers who spanned from Cornwall to
Gloucester and West Wales and all inclusive counties, the day ended with an
impressive average of £1785.00.
