Top price at the October Mid-Month Sale at Beeston was a beautiful Red and White heifer from Peter Mellors of Kegworth, Derbyshire. Cricketfield Rose Royce Sara Red is a daughter of Sterndale Rose Royce out of a Bookman dam and then five generations of VG or EX dams. This potential Excellent cow joined the Winton Herd of Peter Waring and Son of Beverley, East Yorkshire at £2450.
There were a total 30 milking heifers making £2000 or more including 8 over £2200. Three of these were amongst the Burnbrae consignment of Jack and Barclay Taylor from Myddle, Shrewsbury. Their top seller was Burnbrae Butze Amanda 2nd out of a Bickleypark cow that sold giving 33 kg for £2300 with two other by Bomaz Shottle Kampman 691 making £2280 and £2200 each. All three were purchased by D & HE Colclough and Son of Hassall, Sandbach.

Mark and Ann Bowden had a lovely line up of heifers from Malpas farm and sold up to £2200 twice for daughters of Loader and Metallic.

Clive and Ann Bason of Minshull Vernon had a fantastic daughter of Topshot that made £2210 and the Bougheys of Tarporley had a daughter of Regancrest Oman Ingles that topped their consignment at £2200.

Cows peaked at £2000 for a second calver from Peter Waring; Winton Palermo Pamela gave over 8700 kg as a heifer and sold giving 42 kg.

Only thirty in-calf and maiden heifers were forward but they sold well, particularly for anything good. Tim Blackshaw of Lymm had a lovely group and sold up to £1780 for a daughter of Deangate Quentin with others from the same home regularly from £1500 upwards. Maiden Heifers were up to £760

An entry of 31 heifer calves were dominated by the inclusion of 23 from the Burnbrae Herd who are reducing the numbers of young stock on the farm, this was the first consignment from this home which will feature every month. Their top seller at £640 was Burnbrae Astro Sharon, a daughter of Delta Astro with a PLI of £200. Eight others made over £600 and the average for the lot was £530. Baby calves were up to £240.
