Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a continued excellent trade at the Dispersal of the “Kingtonmagna” herd for the Hink’s family of Gillingham, Dorset at Sedgemoor Auction Centre on Tuesday 23rd June.

Taking the day’s top call was “Kingtonmagna Amazing Atwood” the June second calver that was a VG87 out of the “Sahara Pronto” dam selling for 3300gns. Close behind her at 3000gns was her maternal sister “Kingtonmagna Amazing Braxton 2nd” with her “Tregibby Supercup” daughter selling for 900gns at 6 weeks of age.
 
Calved heifers sold to 2650gns for another “Atwood” this time from the “Licorice” family with 6 generations of Ex or VG behind her. The VG85 “Atwood Bambi 152nd” calved in April sold for 2450gns.
 
Incalf heifers topped at 2550gns for the “Stanleycup Lexine” that was due December with 5 Ex dams behind her.
 
Well-bred youngstock were in strong demand with the red and white February 2014 born heifer “Apple Lulu Red”, which did well in the show ring as a calf, selling for 2550gns. The May 2014 born “Glauco Licorice 2nd” off the “Sahara Million Licorice” dam sold for 2000gns.
 
54 successful purchasers from Ireland, West Wales and from Cornwall to Shropshire produced the following creditable averages:
