Auctioneers Gwilym Richards & Co reported a very good trade at the dispersal sale of Jeremy and Sue Phelps’ herd of Holstein Friesians at Norton, Gloucester, with buyers in attendance from throughout the Midlands, the West Country and South Wales.

 

Top price was 1,600gns for a heifer due with her 2nd calf within the next month.  She was purchased by S & A May of Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

 

The same purchasers took home a 2nd calver that had calved in February and was giving 40kg daily.  She was a daughter of Jeeves and was purchased for 1,450gns.

 

The next highest price was 1,300gns for a heifer due with her 2nd calf in June.

 

Trade was very level for the flying herd. There were no young stock on offer.
