Gisburn’s monthly pedigree show day sold over 100 dairy cattle. 
Parkgill Thunder Eclipse 2 was the champion at Gisburn’s August pedigree dairy show. She was shown by father and son team David and Peter Knowles, Cragg Farm, Kendal and sold to the judge Doug Graves, Dunstable. She was out of an EX94 six-lactation dam with an EX90 grand dam and sold for £1,980. 

Reserve champion came from K E Robinson, Farleton with a Cogent Twist heifer giving 30 litres which sold at £1,900 to Dave Coulthurst, Longridge. G & A E Smith from Brock had an entry of six homebred heifers all giving well over 30 litres and sold to average £1,620. Regular vendor Colin Singleton claimed second highest price with a Premier-Kernt Sailing heifer giving 32 litres, it sold to Dave Coulthurst for £1,900. 
A special show of in-calf heifers proved popular, the pedigree winner was Chris Bellerby, Leeds with a Weetondale Delboy Red heifer due for September selling to John Redmayne at £1,420.
